Furniture design with Space Saloon for Bangkok's Ford Resource and Engagement Center (FREC)

When production of a car is decommissioned, what happens to all the materials that were used to produce it?

FREC is a non-profit hub, community space and educational centre in Nang Loeng, Bangkok. Space Saloon worked with Ford Motors Company to explore new uses for waste materials from its nearby factory. During visits to the site, we discovered piles and piles of steel on its way to the dump. The project sought to give these materials a second life, transforming them into a series of flexible, upcycled furniture pieces for the community.
